The project Moving Centre was my first work developed during the MFA program at Art Department, University of Calgary, November, 2012. Using the concept of shifting centers, I created centre places according to my personal relationship with the city of Calgary. Thirty circles of photos measuring four inches in height and ranging from fifteen to twenty inches in diameter, were displayed on the floor of the Little Gallery. The circles objects have photographs of specific places in Calgary inside them and are covered by a map of the city. These maps are each covered with frottage on them which record different textures of places like my home, my studio and classes at the University of Calgary, and shopping places, just to name a few.
